Our Uniqueness

Our uniqueness grows as we serve the unique needs and desires of our families. Here are a few of our special features and programs we’ve created over the years to enhance everyone's experience here at PVCOOP.

Me Book

Me book Each year, working together, we create a special book called the ME BOOK for each child. It is different each year but essentially it contains a photo memory of the child’s experiences here at the Co-op. Each parent participates in documenting two or three class activities, special days or fieldtrips by taking photos. Parents help to create a page in each child’s book which portrays their adventure. We have found that the children love these books and enjoy sharing them with family members to involve them in the experience they had during their year and in many years there after it is a treasured memory of their preschool experience.

Field Trips

Students on a field trip We provide a field trip every month for our children; sometimes inviting a visitor to our school like a toy maker, fire truck or reptile family. Other months we go out into our community to discover new things about new or familiar places like to the pumpkin patch, heliport, or grocery store. Field trips may vary from year to year, depending on the curriculum, children’s interests and parent volunteer who set up the events.

International Peace Day

International Peace Day Every September we greet the new school year by honoring each other, our community and our earth. In spirit we join millions around the world who are celebrating this day- September 21st.  We create and wave Doves of peace, both individually and communally with our 10 foot long, 10 foot high dove while singing songs of peace, and discussing ways in which we can live in peace together.

Trike-a-Thon

Trike-a-thon Every April our older children gather their bikes, helmets and enthusiasm to help children at Saint Jude’s Hospital. Parents collect donations and children learn about bicycle safety, money, and helping others in need. They decorate their bikes, ride around the yard, donating dimes and collecting stamps all with music, laughter and good cheer.
